Among the founding scientific schools of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute that have transformed the world of materials science, the school established by outstanding metallurgist, laureate of State Prizes, Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine, Director of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1952–1955, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V. Hrydnyev continues to have a significant impact on Ukraine’s scientific and educational fields related to materials science.

🎥 HeatTech Hackathon 2026: Events and Participants

The hackathon took place in early April at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It was organized by the Heat Energy Cluster of Ukraine in cooperation with the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy of the Educational and Research Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Energy. Its primary objective was to foster collaboration among students, researchers, industry representatives, and local communities in developing solutions that will help Ukraine maintain reliable heat supply even under crisis conditions.

20th Anniversary Energy Management Olympiad

On April 14–16, 2026, the Departments of Power Supply of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management and Thermal and Alternative Energy of the Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Energy at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute jointly held the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the discipline of Energy Management.
