On April 8, 2025, a delegation from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, consisting of Rector Anatolii Melnychhenko and the Coordinator of Ukrainian-French Projects at KPI, Olga Ogurtsova, visited the École Polytechnique in Paris. During the visit, the KPI representatives met with the institution’s Director-General, Laura Schobar, the Director of International Relations, Gaëlle Le Goff, and the Head of European and Mediterranean Affairs, Christine Levavasseur. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen and deepen the existing cooperation between KPI and the École Polytechnique, France’s leading higher education institution in the field of engineering.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to further develop cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, particularly in creating a joint double-degree program in Machine Learning. Agreements were also reached on initiating collaboration in the fields of financial mathematics, cybersecurity, organizing short-term scientific internships for students and faculty, as well as developing qualification enhancement programs and research internships for staff and students who are veterans.

These agreements will serve as the foundation for a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, which is expected to be signed in the near future. It is also worth noting that a group of four researchers in the field of artificial intelligence will begin their work in the corresponding laboratory at École Polytechnique next week. Further developments will follow.
