On February 20, Ukraine honors the participants of the Revolution of Dignity, who, at the cost of their own lives, changed the course of recent history and demonstrated the power of human dignity and freedom.
For the KPI community, this day is special: among the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred are students and a graduate of our university. Their names are forever inscribed in the history of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the history of Ukraine, just as the memory of our polytechnic students who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: over the years of the war, nine Kyiv Polytechnic students have been posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
On the anniversary of those February events, the administration, students, faculty, and staff of KPI honored the Heavenly Hundred with a moment of silence and laid flowers at the memorial.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Solomyanskyi District State Administration in Kyiv, led by its head Serhii Movenko; Ruslan Dyadyusha, head of the Solomyanskyi District Department of Civil Protection and Preventive Activities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv; Pavlo Chekhanyuk, First Deputy Head of the Solomyanskyi Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine, and representatives of the Junior Academy of Sciences.
🪽Today, KPI students also joined the global silent campaign “Angels of Memory” — as a sign of respect and in loving memory of those who gave their lives for our freedom.
🇺🇦 Eternal glory to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Glory to Ukraine!
