While students are enjoying their summer break and academic staff are recharging before the new academic year, active work is underway at the Department of Power Supply of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute. For the department, summer is not a break but a time for renewing and developing its laboratory facilities.
Throughout July and August, department faculty members, together with students, are systematically modernizing the educational facilities. The main goal is to prepare a modern, comfortable, and technologically equipped learning environment by the start of the new academic year. The work is coordinated and supported by Olena Borychenko, Head of the Department of Power Supply. Thanks to her initiative and continued attention, modernization has become a systematic process involving both faculty members and students.
“When we invest our efforts in laboratories today, we invest in the quality of education tomorrow. This is our department, our shared space, and only together can we make it better,” says Olena Borychenko.
The modernization covers several areas, including equipment upgrades, workspace redesign, improved conditions for laboratory classes, and the installation of new educational training stands. All work is carried out on the principles of responsibility, cooperation, and mutual respect.
“This is our department — and we are making it better” is the principle guiding everyone involved in the process. Instead of simply fulfilling formal tasks, the team is driven by a genuine desire to make the educational environment better and more comfortable for future generations of students.
Modernizing the laboratories is about much more than cosmetic improvements. It is an investment in the quality of technical education. An upgraded laboratory base will enable future energy engineers to work with up-to-date equipment, improve their practical skills, and gain hands-on experience in a comfortable environment.
The Department of Power Supply demonstrates by its own example that the development of the educational environment does not stop even during the summer break. No unnecessary statements — just concrete action, teamwork, and the responsibility of the entire department.
