On the eve of the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference, Library Development Strategies: From Idea to Implementation, held on June 17–19, 2026, at the shelter of the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute, participants gathered for an open discussion titled "Leadership in an Era of Defined Uncertainty."
At the beginning of April, the Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted a friendly game of What? Where? When?, organized by the student association ESTIEM LG Kyiv. True to its "friendly" format, the event focused not on fierce competition for prizes but on intellectual enjoyment, teamwork, and creating a lively atmosphere in which participants could challenge themselves while having fun.
Living stories about poet Maksym Rylsky—Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1943), Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine (1943–1946), director of the Institute of Art Studies, Folklore, and Ethnography (1944–1964)—were heard by students, faculty, and staff of KPI, as well as everyone who visited the Scientific and Technical Library on March 17 for a meeting with his grandson—also named Maksym Rylsky, a writer, public figure, and Honored Journalist of Ukraine.
As part of inter-university scientific and methodological cooperation, the joint seminar "Transforming Information Support for Education and Research in Polytechnic University Libraries: Kyiv – Lviv" was held on March 19, 2026. The event brought together 25 participants: seven representatives of the Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute and 18 colleagues from the library of Lviv Polytechnic.
The H.I. Denisenko Scientific and Technical Library comprises many important departments that provide ongoing, high-quality support for the university’s educational and research activities. Some departments have existed since the university’s inception, while others were established quite recently. Among the latter is the Department of Rare and Valuable Documents. In late fall 2025, it celebrated its 10th anniversary.
