Ivan Petrovich Moskalenko, advisor to the rector of NTUU "KPI" M.Z. Zgurovsky :
- How you met the day of victory in 1945?
- Then I was in a campaign with the battery near Riga. We had to go to a front line. But when there was known a news about a victory, we stop and redirecte. So for me the war ended. When learned of the victory just made three shots from guns. At that time we celebrate a Victory Day really more hotly. All people were very satisfied, happy. But I still would like to end the war. But I still would like to end the war. Because during the occupation in Kiev was killed my whole family: father, mother, sister and brother. I learned this the day of victory. They fell somewhere in Babin Yar, father was shot before. So for me in the war had many casualties. The mood was not really festive. Although I have not only lost family. But we fought well, gave all the power to win.
- And now what feelings overflow you in day on May 9?
- What feelings can overflow? I gave 60 years KPI. In a Victory Day I attend various concerts and lay wreathes. I remember my parents. Such isn't forgotten.
Prokhorenko Sergey Gavrilovich, head of military and mobilization department of NTUU "KPI"
- Where you met day on May 9 in 1945. You remember how it was?
- During war I had to work as the scout in an antiaircraft and artillery regiment. In the night from 8 to 9 May I was on duty in the city of Vyshny Volochyok located on a railway track which connected Leningrad to Moscow. Our regiment covered this road. The observation post of a division was placed in the two-storeyed building of the former garment factory, the roof of which was our post. Suddenly the radio played loudly. We had two batteries, automatic gun hit one after the other three volleys. Until our commander run to us and reported good news. So we greeted the victory of salute.
- What today for you the Victory Day? What feelings in the holiday on May 9?’
- Everything is remembered. Something was good, but we had also bad thing. But only the good comes back to memory. Though it is a pity that many of my companions are already not present. Until recently I communicate with all, corresponde. In day on May 9 I surely come for parade. With the granddaughters we go on the central street of the capital.
Panchenko Nikolay Filippovich, professor of department of the international economy of FMM
- You remember where you met day on May 9, 1945? What feelings covered you?
- When the Day of Victory come, I was near Slovakia. Of course, everyone were delighted of this long-awaited news, because we won against the difficult enemy - fascism. . As soon as war began, I already some days before it was called in ranks of the Soviet Army. Then I was sent at once to the front. And I passed from Kharkov to Kamyshin near Stalingrad, and then from there again back, participated in liberation of Kharkov and all settlements in this direction, and then celebreted a victory in the territory of Slovakia. Before that with a seriously wound in a hand I got to a field hospital where to me it was amputated. But on May 9, 1945 I already was in army again. We were extremely pleased. They were heard the message at first by radio, and then our commanders reported to us about a victory. On pleasures all embraced. I remember, we very well celebrated a victory.
- What do you feel in day on May 9 today?
I feel pleasure for our future. We won and we have hope. Of course and this year, as well as in previous years, I will take part in celebration. On May 7 all veterans lay flowers at a monument to the dead, in a conference hall of the Academic council of KPI a small concert and then and a sociable lunch will take place. Certainly, at home we will be celebrate with relatives. This year, perhaps, I won't go to the Khreshchatyk. And earlier every year went and it was pleasant to me. When KPI went for demonstration, I always was in the forefront our column.
