Development of a student as a person and acquisition of leadership qualities, work with student organizations, workshops, student projects and holding all-Ukrainian Olympiads and conferences - the main activity of the department of organizational work with students.
For comprehensive development of students in extracurricular time in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute there are more than 100 student workshops of scientific, engineering and socio-humanitarian orientation.
The aim of the workshops is to give students the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills and have fun. Workshops are electives where students do what they like. A separate bonus - the student can join the work of the workshop, whose activities are different from its main learning process. That is, while studying at the Faculty of Electronics, a student can take part in socio-humanitarian workshops or vice versa - a student-linguist can study rocket and space engineering.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute also holds first stages of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads , the winners of which take part in the II stages of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads
In addition to the competitions, there are a number of traditional projects and events held for and with the active participation of students, including KPI-OPEN and Freshman Day .
