Cooperation with high-tech companies and innovative production is an essential element of the university's activity, which provides students and professors with the opportunity to learn about the main trends of the modern development of the branches of science.
On November 3-4, 2018, teachers and students of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (Automation Department) visited the Jabil electronics manufacturing plant in the Zakarpatskyi region and took part in the Jabil Manufacturing Day 2018. The travel expenses were courtesy of the hosting party, which facilitated talks between Jabil and the IHF, held by First Deputy Dean O.A.Zhuchenko.
Jabil Circuit is an American company that is among the top three in the world of electronics manufacturing. Jabil manufactures products for medicine, energy, digital and home appliances, agriculture, aerospace and automotive industries, smart homes, mobile communications, network and telecommunication equipment, and more. Jabil Headquarters is located in St. Petersburg, Florida. The company has more than 100 factories in 29 countries of the world.
During the visit to the factory, the students got acquainted with modern electronics manufacturing technologies and participated in interactive workshops on the use of modern technological equipment, automation of production, and the assessment of the quality of finished products.
According to the results of the meeting with the plant management, preliminary agreement was reached on the progress of the production and pre-diploma practice at the enterprise by the students of the department of automation of chemical production. They also discussed the possibility of paid traineeships, support and development of the teaching and laboratory base of the department, and the necessary further work of graduates of the engineering-chemical faculty.
Members of the delegation are grateful to Jabil, and especially to its director Sergiy Kartsev for the opportunity to get into the world of advanced electronics manufacturing technologies and an extremely warm welcome, and look forward to further cooperation between Jabil and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
