Yuriy studied at the Educational and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
He supported Euromaidan. In April 2014, with the beginning of the war in Donbas, Yuriy turned into the Military Commissariat voluntarily. He was convinced that hostilities should be stopped in the east of the country.
On May 14, Yuriy was sent to the Anti-terrorist Operation Zone as the commander of the rifle division of the 12th Territorial Defence Battalion "Kyiv".
In mid-August, he passed exams as an extramural student of MMI of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and returned to the front.
Yuriy got killed as a result of enemy fire near Krasnyi Yar in the city of Luhansk on September 2, 2014.
Senior Sergeant Yuriy Artiukh was awarded Order For Courage of 3rd degree posthumously.
