On September 19-20, the international conference “Stimulating Economic Recovery: Scaling the Experience of Digital Education in Higher Education Institutions” was held at the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The conference was organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ program and the project “Incubating Freedom for Ukraine - Building IT Competence among Ukrainian war refugees living in the EU”.

This project aims to increase the competitiveness of refugees in the modern labor market. The conference was aimed at considering the role of digital education in the face of modern challenges, in particular in increasing digital literacy among women, reintegrating Ukrainian citizens, and developing strategies for the restoration and development of Ukraine's human capital. The partners of the meeting were the Loránd Eötvös University of Budapest (ELTE), the University of Gdańsk, and the Polish Educational Foundation “Perspektywy”.
In addition to Kyiv Polytechnicians, the conference was attended by scientists and researchers from higher education institutions in Poland, the United States, Italy, Estonia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. The event was attended and spoken at by Nelli Yakovleva, MP of Ukraine, Waldemar Siwinski, founder of the Polish Educational Foundation “Perspektywy”, Natalia Aliushyna, Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, and Aslikhan Ozkan, UN Women representative in Ukraine.
After the opening of the event and welcoming speeches by guests and participants, a plenary session was held, chaired by KPI Rector Anatoliy Melnychenko and moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Sociology and Law Olena Akimova. On the second day, classes were held in sections: “Empowering She-Tech: Increasing the digital literacy of women in the labor market”, ‘Synergy of university cooperation for the economic recovery of Ukraine’, ‘Improving pedagogical tools for teaching IT disciplines’, ‘Research on the social impact of migration in the context of sustainable development in the EU and Ukraine’.
Speaking to the media, Anatoliy Melnychenko emphasized that this project is aimed at developing digital skills in women so that they can adapt to the labor market, and this makes it especially relevant and important for us.
According to Olena Akimova, the conference was full of interesting and inspiring speeches and discussions about the role of digital education in economic recovery. There was a discussion about how innovations in education can help create new opportunities for development and strengthen cooperation between countries, as well as the role of women in this process.
