As part of the strategic partnership between the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Kyiv Crane Machinery Plant (“KCMP”), master's students of the Department of Automation of Electromechanical Systems and Electric Drive of the FEA had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the most modern production processes at a real enterprise. The visit to the plant's production facilities allowed students to see in practice the results of the application of advanced European technologies, in particular in the field of automation of electromechanical systems.

Kyiv Crane Machinery Plant LLC (https://kzpto.com.ua/uk/) is a leader in the Ukrainian crane industry and the largest manufacturer of cranes in Eastern Europe. “We manufacture more than 140 cranes annually. Thousands of our machines lift and move hundreds of thousands of tons of cargo every day. Reliably and on time,” assure the production workers.

During the tour, the students got acquainted with all stages of production - from the creation of electrical circuits and the assembly of control cabinets to the latest developments in automation. They saw all stages of the production process - from design to final product testing. This immersion in the practical aspects of the plant's activities was a valuable addition to their theoretical knowledge, which is an important step in the training of future engineers.

From Ruslan Sergienko, Head of Human Resources, the students learned about employment conditions, career opportunities and received practical advice on how to make a successful start in their professional lives. They also discussed social guarantees, training and development prospects. These include corporate English courses, personal courses of various directions and levels, various sporting events, and opportunities to provide employees with housing.

Maksym Husakovskyi, Head of Electrical Engineering, a graduate of the Department of Automation of Electromechanical Systems and Electric Drive at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, shared his experience of working and growing in the company. He started his career as an electrical engineer while studying for his master's degree. In three years, thanks to his hard work and the company's support, he reached a managerial position. Maksym spoke about the main tasks of the department, the use of specialized software at the enterprise, and the specifics of cooperation with international partners. He answered numerous technical questions from the students and also provided recommendations for developing a career in electrical engineering.

“The cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Kyiv VET Plant is an example of an effective synthesis of science and production, and contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists. Thanks to this interaction, students receive not only theoretical knowledge but also invaluable practical experience, which is the basis for their further professional growth,” the scientists of the Department of Automation of Electromechanical Systems and Electric Drive note.

“We are interested in training and education of young specialists in the field of mechanical engineering,” said Oleksiy Sevastyanov, General Director of Kyiv Crane Machinery Plant, ”That is why we cooperate with the best universities of Ukraine and offer students not only an interesting and informative excursion, but also the opportunity to undergo an internship and get a job at our enterprise.
