Lockheed Martin is one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies, operating in aviation, space, and other high-technology fields. The visit holds particular significance for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute — a university with a strong engineering and scientific tradition and expertise across many of these fields.
The meeting was especially symbolic given the legacy of Igor Sikorsky himself — a graduate of Kyiv Polytechnic, a renowned aircraft designer, and one of the pioneers of the global helicopter industry. Today, Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, continues to advance aviation technologies, carrying forward the engineering tradition he helped establish.
During the meeting, the KyivTech administration and Finkсord-Polytech Science Park LLC discussed opportunities to develop joint projects, connect Ukraine’s engineering potential with the expertise of the U.S. industry, and train highly qualified specialists to support Ukraine’s innovative development.
For a university that has been shaping Ukraine’s engineering elite for more than a century, such cooperation offers an opportunity to combine fundamental education and research with world-class practical expertise, develop solutions that meet the country’s needs, and strengthen its technological potential.
