History of the university

In the late November of the last year, NTUU "KPI" held January event: Great physical audience took grand opening presentation of new equipment for video and TV link and distance education.

December 7, 1988 at 11:41 local time in Armenia a devastated earthquake took place. A series of aftershocks in 30 seconds almost destroyed the city of Spitak and inflicted heavy destruction to the city Leninakan (now Gyumri), Kirovakan (now Vanadzor) and Stepanavan.

For every man its language – is the best, the most moving and this is a common knowledge . Language is an invaluable treasure of the people, the most important chronicle of life.

Strategic offensive operation (August - December, 1943) which received in the history the name "Fight for Dnipro" was one of the brightest pages of the Great Patriotic War.

Ancient Kyiv has lots of spectacular things to impress its guests with. Among them are numerous ravines and cliffs on the right bank of the Dnieper. There are many ravines: Protasiv and Rep’yakhiv, Voznesensky and Kmytiv, Khreschchatyi and Kuchma, Mokriy and Kozhem'yatskyy ...

Every state has some dates which signify remarkable events. May 9, the Victory Day, is such a date for Ukraine.

Every year, as May begins, the activity of governmental and non-governmental institutions increases: at different levels of public administration more attention is drawn to the participants in the Great Patriotic War, battle-front veterans and children of war. The reasons why the war was unleashed, nations' and states' participation and contribution to the Victory, its effects on the further development of the society are still being discussed by journalists, politicians and scholars specializing on the war. Films and series about the war are shown on TV.

In early July 1962  the platform of the Kyiv railway station was  spilled by irrepressible student sea: with flags, flowers, white-toothed smiles and happy gleam in his eyes.

In the XV century the New Year in Russia has been met on March 1 on the Julian calendar, and later - September 1 (summarizing harvest). Only in 1700, Peter 1st, following the example of Europeans issued a decree about celebrating New Year on January 1st.
