The Research Center for NPP Reliability and Safety is a research institution managed by the Educational and Research Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Energy of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
The Research Center for NPP Reliability and Safety was established to address the tasks:
- Promoting the implementation of educational and scientific activities in the specialty 143 “Nuclear Energy” at the modern level.
- Promoting: conducting research at the educational and research institute; ensuring creative activity of participants in the educational process (both applicants and NP/NPP); using the results obtained in the educational process; training of highly qualified scientific personnel.
- Providing the nuclear industry of Ukraine with effective comprehensive scientific support through the use of the scientific potential of the entire NTUU KPI.
For this purpose, it is envisaged:
- Performing research and development work to improve the reliability and safety of operating NPPs.
- Carrying out research work to substantiate the reliability and safety of advanced reactor units.
- Involvement of participants of the educational process (students and scientific and pedagogical staff) in the implementation of research works.
- Improving the quality of education at all levels of higher education in the specialty 143 “Nuclear Energy”.
- Professional development of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute research and teaching staff.
- Training and professional development of personnel of the nuclear industry of Ukraine.
- Providing scientific and technical support to the nuclear industry of Ukraine.
- Providing comprehensive support for the introduction of new types of reactor reactors.
- Organization of training and advanced training in the use of calculation codes for NPP safety assessment.
- Application of multifunctional simulators in the educational process and advanced training of employees of the nuclear industry of Ukraine.
