Dear Kyiv polytechnicians! The dramatic, murderous, beyond common sense 2022 year is coming to an end. For the Ukrainian people, this is a year of courage and dignity, a year of approaching the cherished independence and sovereignty.

This New Year is not like all the others. Are the students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute ready to celebrate? What gifts are expected and to whom? Is there a place for Christmas trees in the dormitories? Is there a New Year's mood?

Despite the nightly shelling, students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute gathered to decorate the Christmas tree in Ploshcha Znan’ (Square of Knowledge) and share the festive spirit today.

One and all were treated to tasty little things, hot tea and non-alcoholic mulled wine.

“Shchedryk” by the outstanding Ukrainian composer, conductor, and teacher Mykola Leontovych is perhaps the most popular Ukrainian song in the world. The Christmas holidays are simply impossible to imagine without this simple (only three notes and four sounds) melody!

Christians celebrate twelve days from Christmas to Epiphany – from star to water. For centuries, caroling and nativity scenes (costumed street performances) have been their most important theatrics.

Dear Kyiv Polytechnics! The year 2020 is coming to an end. New Year and Christmas holidays are approaching. We have all been side by side in this ordeal year. We bravely met the challenges, did not lose inspiration and work and study diligently and effectively.

Ten years ago, the Department of rare and valuable documents, which fund began to collect old books, was created at G. I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
