Participants of the IV All-Ukrainian Engineering Hackathon SmaRTF had the opportunity to try themselves in several categories: defensive, offensive, intelligence, rescue, security, training/educational (military training).

Key facts:

📌 68 teams from all over Ukraine who got a unique opportunity to “pump” themselves online with experts and professionals;
2 days to solve the problem with the project presentation within the category announced on the day of the competition (second half of October);
📌 The 8 best solutions made it to the final and received funding to create a prototype device/system (within the budget (the maximum compensation for the project estimate by the general partners in the form of components was $800 per team).
For the second stage, the selected teams created a functional prototype of their solution that could demonstrate the project's performance to the jury.

The hackathon was held at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (Radio Engineering Faculty, RTF) with the support of the
- Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine;
- Brave1;
- Ukrainian Startup Fund.

Sponsors of the event

- Renesas Electronics Corporation;
- IMC-ENGINEERING LLC (Rapier);
- KVERTUS;
- Infozahyst;
- Skyeton;
- Skyfall.

🏆 The winner was the ProGachi team (Denys Yepikhin and Nikita Martynenko - Radio Engineering Faculty, RTF) with the CamCodec project: A set of devices designed to encrypt and decrypt an analog video signal to prevent unauthorized viewing of video content. An encoder alters the video signal, making it unintelligible without a corresponding decoder or ground station. Accordingly, the decoder and the ground station decode the signal, which allows it to be displayed on an analog monitor. One of the features of the developed system is the automatic change of the system's operating parameters to reduce the impact of EW.
The winners received $2,000 and gifts from sponsors.
