At a meeting of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Oleksandr Dmytrovych Mokhunko—a senior lecturer in the Department of Health and Sports Technologies (FBMI) and a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war—was awarded the Honorary Distinction of the University’s Academic Council.
“For significant contributions to strengthening Ukrainian statehood, courage and dedication demonstrated in defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as conscientious fulfillment of professional duties.”
📜 From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, starting February 24, 2022, he voluntarily stood up to defend the state. He served in the 129th and 244th battalions of the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, carrying out combat missions in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia sectors. He later held the position of chief sergeant of the fire support company of the 5th Battalion of the 113th Territorial Defense Brigade.
🔹In January 2026, Oleksandr Dmytrovych was discharged from service due to health reasons (Group III disability) with the rank of sergeant.
🎓Today, he has returned to the university and continues to work with students—now in the classroom.
🫡 Thank you for your courage, dedication, and example of responsibility. We are proud of our faculty.
