Three days of events, more than 7,500 visitors, and countless opportunities to discover 🇯🇵 Japan up close — this was this year’s festival, organized by the Ukrainian-Japanese Center of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
⚽️ ✔️ Four university teams, one football arena, and plenty of sporting excitement. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv National Economic University, and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv met on the pitch at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Sports Complex to compete and, at the same time, honor the memory of Serhii Zhuravliov—a longtime mentor at the university, a national-category futsal and ice hockey referee, a European veterans’ champion, and an Honored Employee of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute whose work became an entire era in the history of university sports. He also served on the Academic Council of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, the Presidium of the Trade Union Committee, and was an Honored Trade Union Employee.
🤝 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University are deepening their partnership in international activities, academic mobility, and engagement with student communities.
💙 The topic “Resource Instead of Exhaustion: How to Prevent Professional Burnout” was discussed on September 16 at the Smart Shelter CLUST SPACE of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Library.
🖼 The Hryhorii Synytsia Art Gallery at the Center for Culture and Arts of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has opened the All-Ukrainian Exhibition of Artists and Architects “Kyiv — The City That Should Be Loved.”
🚀 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is one of 12 university winners selected from 27 participants in the CampeX competition in the field of “Space Technologies.”
This summer, Dina Koltysheva, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Bioenergy, Bioinformatics and Ecobiotechnology of the Faculty of Biotechnology, took part in the Summer Academy of the Bavarian Environmental Administration. The training, or rather, internship, took place in the city of Hof from July 20 to 31, 2026.
⚙️ A new high-tech space at the Faculty of Robotics and Instrumentation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute will enable students to complete the entire engineering product development cycle — from the initial idea and digital design to manufacturing, assembly, and testing of finished robotic systems.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has launched the development of a unique research infrastructure for Ukraine called TRIUMPH (Ukrainian Translational Research Infrastructure for Medicine, Public Health and Innovations). The initiative was launched by the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, which has joined forces with leading research institutions, clinical centers, a pharmaceutical company, and a civil society organization.
🎓 Anatolii Melnychenko, Rector of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute, has been included in Focus magazine’s list of the “100 Most Influential Ukrainians of 2026” in the “Education and Science” category, which was introduced to the ranking for the first time this year.
