🇪🇪 The Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, together with the heads of 12 Ukrainian universities and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, including Deputy Minister Mykola Trofymenko, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, visited Estonia on a working visit.
✅ During meetings with Estonian government officials and representatives of the academic community from Tallinn University of Technology, the University of Tartu, and the Estonian Academy of Arts, the participants discussed:
▪️ modern models of higher education and research development and international cooperation;
▪️ support for higher education institutions in attracting European research funding;
▪️ strengthening the management capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions and modern approaches to personnel policy;
▪️ the work of grant offices and expanding the participation of Ukrainian universities in international consortia.
📋 The Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute also spoke at the “University Governance Reform in UA” seminar organized by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research. He presented the transformation of the Kyiv Polytechnic's governance system, based on the principles of decentralization, efficiency, clear accountability for results, and preserving democratic decision-making mechanisms.
🔸 Estonia's experience provides an opportunity to compare university governance models and identify practices that can be adapted at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute — from personnel policy and grant management to research organization and international partnerships.
The visit took place within the framework of a Ukrainian-Estonian project to modernize university management and HR policy, coordinated by the University of Tartu and financially supported by the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV).
