One of the main issues on the agenda of the meeting of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which took place on October 7, was the consideration of the results of this year's admission campaign. The first vice-rector of the university Mykhailo Bezuhlyi made a report on its features and results. We publish the main points of his speech.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the final of the V All-Ukrainian competition of scientific works with international participation ‘Youth Intellect. Rational Nature Management and Modern Energy Efficient Technologies’, which brings together talented young people around issues of energy efficiency, environmental safety, biosecurity of society and efficient use of energy of the future, sustainable development technologies in general.

Ten years have passed since the launch of the international project of organizing children's recreation for KPI employees in Poland - “Children's Poland”, as it is called by the employees of our university. In 2014, our children first became participants in a recreational and educational program organized by the Warsaw University of Technology.

On September 19-20, the international conference “Stimulating Economic Recovery: Scaling the Experience of Digital Education in Higher Education Institutions” was held at the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The Educational and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (Institute of MMI) of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has successfully completed participation in the project ‘Renovation of Education in the field of aircraft construction’ (uCAREER) and showed high results in creating innovative, employer-oriented, certified educational programmes for the training of creative and competent graduate engineers to meet the requirements of the labour market.

For me, this academic mobility was unexpected, because I applied for the programme through a call for applications, and it happened just a week before the event. However, this spontaneous decision brought me a very useful experience.

What security challenges await Ukraine in the future, relations between Ukraine and NATO and how the American experience can help Ukraine win this war - a number of topical issues were discussed by representatives of the Defence Forces and world and Ukrainian scientific institutions at the seminar ‘Strategic level of national security and defence’, which was held for the second time in Kyiv Polytechnic.

At the end of September, the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library held a traditional celebration of the All-Ukrainian Library Day. Before the opening of the celebration, its participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition ‘Creative’.

But only motivated and conscientious students who strive for new and great things, act boldly and decisively, achieve results. And with it comes recognition. In particular, the best of the best students are awarded state scholarships.

On 26 September, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute held a special annual object-based civil protection training. Employees of the Civil Protection Department, responsible persons for civil protection of institutes, faculties and structural units, members of the evacuation and emergency commissions, representatives of the Campus Directorate, heads of dormitories and commandants of educational buildings gathered in the meeting room of the Academic Council.
