In March, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the traditional Mathematics Week, a series of events that demonstrated how interesting, interactive and modern this science can be. The significance of the event was supported by the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Anatoliy Melnychenko: he recorded a video message to the participants, in which he emphasized the importance of developing mathematical culture among young people and its role in scientific and technological progress. 

The International Center for Mathematics in Ukraine (ICMU) honorary award, introduced this year, was given to Oleksiy Galganov, a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. He became one of six winners selected from among the best mathematics students from all leading Ukrainian universities.

Mathematics Week 2025 at our university started with the traditional Mathematical Battle - a competition that brings together teams of 1-2 year students to solve mathematical problems. The organizer is the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics (FMF).

UNESCO has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Physics and Technology.

Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory, FMF will resume work a club "Custom and Olympiad tasks of algebra and analysis." Classes will be held remotely, using Zoom.

In early December last year, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava hosted an international workshop AdaMass Partnership Meeting. The event brought together teachers and researchers from different countries, including Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Norway, to discuss pressing issues in mathematics education and find innovative solutions. Representatives of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Olena Tymoshenko, Kateryna Moskvychova, and Olga Pelekhata also took part in the event (see photo). 

The National Research Foundation of Ukraine has nominated Dariia SAVCHENKO, Acting Head of the Department of General Physics and Modeling of Physical Processes of the FMF, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, to the international database AcademiaNet.

The main goal of the organizers of the University for Teachers Seminars (UTS) was to unite active educators who want to develop, share their achievements and bring new things to the educational process.

Oleh Kozlenko received the title of coach of the All-Ukrainian competition "Olympiad of Geniuses of Ukraine" (GENIUS Olympiad Ukraine) 2023 in the category "Science".
