Today in frontline Kharkiv, events were held on the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. Our Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was also represented. Among those present were representatives of higher education institutions, academic institutes and interested organizations.
The event discussed the transition to formula funding, presented the criteria and methods of certification of scientific institutions and higher education institutions in scientific fields, which will be applied next year.
Starting in 2026, state funding will depend on many criteria that will be used to calculate the overall score.
Our university received three awards at once for the most key criteria for further funding:
📌 Acknowledgement for the highest publication activity in international journals with high impact indices (quartiles Q1-Q2);
📌 Acknowledgement for the most effective participation in the EU's Horizon Europe program;
📌 Acknowledgment for the largest number of young scientists involved in research projects.
The event also presented the main steps to transform the scientific sphere, in particular, the digitalization of processes and simplification of reporting for research projects.
