“Synergy of Science and Practice” is the motto of the Institute of Civil Protection Research of the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine (INDCZ of the NUCZ of Ukraine), with which Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute signed a memorandum of scientific cooperation on March 5. The document was signed by Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Professor Serhii Stirenko on behalf of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and by its acting head Professor Roman Ponomarenko on behalf of the SICC of Ukraine(INDCZ of the NUCZ of Ukraine. 

In early May, together with the Ministry of Strategic Industry, Defense Expo Day was held. Career Day in the defense sector”.

The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has announced the awarding of prizes named after outstanding scientists of Ukraine based on the results of the 2024 competition (Resolution No.33 of February 5, 2025).

Environmental crimes committed by russian troops cause irreparable damage to the environment. Natural resources suffer from bombing and mining of territories, construction of fortifications, and destruction of buildings. According to KOVA, as of the beginning of 2024, more than 28.8 thousand objects were damaged in the Kyiv region. Among them are almost 26 thousand private and multi-storey buildings. We need to not only get rid of this garbage, but also apply an ecological principle to its disposal. Sort, recycle and reuse the material.

During November-December 2024, the staff of the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library prepared a basic comprehensive course of open lectures “Must-have for research” for postgraduate students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and for all researchers who are interested in new knowledge.

The extremely important topics of the reports, as well as the incentive to reflect on who we owe our security and the opportunity to conduct research, are what attracted attention to the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Roman Ivanchenko Scientific School”, which took place in late autumn 2024 at the Department of Publishing and Editing of the Institute of VPI of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Like most similar scientific events currently held at the university, this one was held online for obvious reasons.  

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize students and teachers with military developments.

One of the traditions, the origins of which are associated with the activities of an outstanding scientist, innovator, welder, materials scientist academician E.O. Paton, whose name is the Educational and Research Institute of Materials Science and Welding of KPI, is the inseparable unity of KPI scientists with scientists of the Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine of physical and material science profile. In this cooperation, KPI is represented by the E.O. Paton Institute of IMZ - a large educational, scientific and innovative complex in the structure of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which includes 5 departments.

Modern technologies are steadily entering our lives. Medicine is an integral part of this process. This industry, with its thousands of years of history, is now arming itself with new medical devices. Know-how in medicine literally saves people from death and brings them back to full life, especially now, in times of a terrible bloody war.
