11 teams of innovators, 30 mentors and international experts, new solutions in the field of green engineering—this is how the Kick-off of GreenChem Accelerator 2026 began at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
📜 The project is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering at Yale University, with support from the Global Environment Facility. The national program implementer is the Center for Resource-Efficient and Cleaner Production, and the partner for scaling up innovations in Ukraine is Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine.
✅ The program aims to develop solutions in the fields of green chemistry and sustainable production.
Over the course of 12 weeks, participants can expect:
🟢 training sessions, lectures, and workshops led by Ukrainian and international experts in entrepreneurship, green chemistry, innovation, and startup development;
🟢 personalized consultations to develop a business model and assess market potential;
🟢 the opportunity to receive microgrants for testing technologies and developing prototypes;
🟢 field trips to companies and direct contacts with industrial partners for piloting solutions;
🟢 support for researchers and students in transforming early-stage developments into commercially successful startups.
It is important to note that among the competition finalists are two teams from KPI: representatives of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (IEE Institute) and the Faculty of Automation, Industrial Engineering, and Ecology (FAPIE)
The project will culminate in a Demo Day, where teams will present the results of their work to potential investors. The best projects will have the opportunity to present at the international level under the auspices of Yale University and will automatically become participants in the Sikorsky Challenge 2026 International Festival.
